Ben Firth’s Hadrian’s Wall Walk

Trustee Ben Firth will be taking on the immense challenge of walking the full length of Hardian’s Wall in 3 days from Monday 18th May to Wednesday 20th May! Hadrian’s wall spans 84 miles from Bowness-on-Solway in the west to Wallsend in the east. This challenge will help us to raise vital help to support Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) provide funds for patients and families. Ben will be supported by Amie Gibson who has kindly volunteered to also take on this challenge.
This will be Ben’s fourth annual challenge to help support the Matthew22 Fund and CHECT and this is what he had to say:
“In August 2022, our son Harvey was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer that primarily affects young children. It was an incredibly frightening and uncertain time for our family. During this period, CHECT were there for us. They provided vital support, guidance, and reassurance when we needed it most. They help families facing the unimaginable, fund life-saving research, raise awareness, and support children and parents through diagnosis, treatment, and beyond. This will be an enormous physical and mental challenge, but it is nothing compared to what children like Harvey go through.”
