Allerton Bywater Wombles

We are proud to be working alongside Allerton Bywater Wombles, a volunteer organisation who help to keep the village tidy and litter free. Keen Wombler and community member Angela Oldershaw had this to say about the group and working with Matthew22:

“Now in its third year of existence, the Allerton Bywater Wombles is a group of volunteers from the villages of all ages who help to keep the village tidy. We pick up in monthly Community Litter Picks and also as were out and about – dog walking, on the school run or strolling on the Lines, woods, or nature reserves. We are part of Litter Free Leeds who provide our distinctive purple bags and clear them away for us on behalf of Leeds City Council. Since September 2025 we have been collecting cans separately to raise funds for Medecins Sans Frontieres too! Volunteers supporting volunteers! The hi-vis vests provided by the Matthew22 Fund help to keep our wombles visible and safe! Thank you for your ongoing support!

We look forward to working alongside Allerton Bywater Wombles as part of our community outreach and wish them all the best with the important work they are doing.
